More than 45 people have been killed in a plane crash in Philippine after a military aircraft missed the runway.
According to CNN The C-130 military aircraft was transporting troops from Cagayan de Oro to Sulu province but ended up crashing on the island of Jolo.
The aircraft was carrying 96 people which included military personnel and crew and at least 45 have been confirmed dead.
Following the crash in Patikul village, Jolo Island, civilians and troops swooped in to rescue the survivors.

According to reports, some soldiers were able to jump out of the plane before it hit the ground, saving them from the explosion of the crash.
Out of the 45 confirmed dead, 42 were soldiers while the other 3 were crew members.
53 people (49 military personnel and 4 are civilians) were also injured during the incident.

More than 50 people were immediately hospitalised while others were evacuated to city Zamboanga for further treatment.
The army has confirmed the plane crash in Philippine while revealing that 5 soldiers are missing.
