After two weeks of various sports events, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has finally come to an end.
Team USA ended up at the top of the medal tables, finishing with 39 gold, 41 silver and 33 bronze medals throughout the run of the competition.
The United States only edged China as the Asian country finished with 38 gold medals and 88 in total.
Japan and Great Britain completed the top 4 with 27 and 22 gold medals respectively.
Nigeria ended up with one silver and one bronze medal, finishing 74th on the overall medal table and 8th in Africa.
Nigeria’s medals came through Blessing Oborududu and Ese Brume in wrestling and long jump.
Blessing Oborududu won a silver medal in the women’s 68kg wrestling event after an impressive run to the final.
Ese Brume got her bronze medal from the women’s long jump event, jumping a distance of 6.97m.
