Barbadian musician Rihanna has been away from the music scene for so long and now we finally know why.

The pop musician is now officially a billionaire, according to Forbes with an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion.

The latest revelation means that the talented star is now the richest female musician in the world and the second richest female entertainer, only behind Oprah Winfrey.

$1.4 million out of Rihanna’s net worth comes from the value of her cosmetics company, Fenty.

The remaining value comes from the lingerie company, Savage x Fenty and her earnings as a musician and actress.

Rihanna launched her company in 2017 in a partnership with luxury brand LVMH which is owned by French billionaire Bernard Arnault.

To focus on her business, the music star had put her music career on hold, having not released a studio album since 2016.

Despite her recent success, the business journey hasn’t been smooth for Rihanna as the star had to shut down her Fenty fashion label earlier this year.
