There has been extreme competition in the billionaire ranking since the turn of the year, with Bezos and Musk switching places multiple times.
Another billionaire has yet again pushed himself to the top of the ranking; French business tycoon, Bernard Arnault.
Arnault’s wealth has risen by $110 billion since March 2020, and according to Forbes Monday ranking, he is the world’s richest with a net worth of $186.3 billion.
The Louis Vuitton owner is currently $300 million richer than Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos.
Arnault is the owner of luxury group LVMH, (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy) a company that owns Fendi, Christian Dior and Givenchy.
LVMH shares rose by rose 0.4% on Monday, taking the company’s market cap to $320 billion as Arnault’s fortune rose by $600 million.

Over the years, the top of Forbes’s Billionaire ranking has been dominated by American citizens.
Bernard Arnault is only the second person to disrupt American’s ranking at the top of the rich list since Carlos Slim Helu.

Note: Jeff Bezos has once again taken his place at the top of the ranking as of Tuesday morning.
