Rihanna received one of the biggest honours at the Met GALA 2022. No, the Fenty founder didn’t receive an award. She got something better- her very own statue.

The singer, 34, was unable to attend this year’s event as she is heavily pregnant with her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky.

Despite her absence, the organizers decided to immortalize her with a towering statue that even showed her baby bump.

The statue was first seen in a video that was posted on Vogue’s official Instagram account.

Shortly after the video was posted, Rihanna also recognized the honour by reposting it on her official Instagram account. She captioned it:

‘shut down the met in marble! what’s more gilded than that? Lol! ‘Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!’

Rihanna’s video was viewed millions of times by her followers and she also received numerous positive comments from her fans.

Rihanna is currently in her third trimester of pregnancy. The super singer and entrepreneur recently featured in a Vogue interview where she talked about embracing motherhood and bringing her baby into the world.

The musician explained that balancing her career with a coming child has been challenging. She, however, added that she is confident that she can “absolutely do it”.
