– Boko Haram claims responsibility for Kankara schoolboys kidnap in Kastina state on Friday night.

– Hundreds of students from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara were abducted by gunmen.

– “I am Abubakar Shekau and our brothers are behind the kidnapping in Katsina,” the sect’s leader announced.

The Boko Haram group has just claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of hundreds of school students in Kastina State, according to News Agency report.

It was reported that more than 300 students are still missing after gunmen on motorcycles arrived the Government Science School in Kankara late on Friday and adducted scores of schoolboys after engaging security forces in a fierce gun battle. Hundreds of students fled into nearby bushes and surrounding hamlets as many are still unaccounted for at the time of filing this report.

“I am Abubakar Shekau and our brothers are behind the kidnapping in Katsina,” said the leader of the sect in a voice message obtained by reporters.

We could recall that Shekau also claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of hundreds of schoolgirls in Chibok six years ago.

The federal government announced that a joint rescue operation comprising the Police, Army and Air Force was launched n Saturday to expedite rescue operations.

Parents and families have converged at the school since the day of the incidence as they pleads with the government to reacue the missing school students.

Meanwhile we earlier reported that a total of 668 students of the Government Science Secondary School Kankara, Katsina State are still unaccounted for, according to report.
