The United States Attorney’s Office in California has alleged that celebrity Nigerian fraudster Ramon Abbas AKA Hushpuppi paid a Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari to arrest his friend.

According to a statement released by the court on Wednesday, Abbas conspired with five others to defraud a Qatari school founder of $1.1 million.

Hushpuppi collaborated with Vincent from Nigeria, Abdulrahman Juma from Kenya, Rukayat Fashola, Yusuf Anifowoshe, and Bolatito Agbabiaka to scam the Qatari businessman.

However, there was a dispute between Abbas and Vincent about how to split the funds acquired from the scam.

Vincent then contacted the Qatari school owner and informed him that he was being scammed.

This triggered Hushpuppi who contacted police chief Abba Kyari to arrest his colleague.

Court documents showed that Abbas sent pictures of Vincent to the police chief and after the job was completed, Kyari sent his account number for a wire transfer.

After the $1.1 million fraud was successful, Huspuppi acquired a $230,000 Richard Mille watch and bribed officials in St. Kitts and Nevis to obtain citizenship on the island.

Abbas’s recent guilt plea means that he stands to spend as much as 20 years in jail, along with forfeiture of his assets.
