A female corps member who was publicly assaulted in Akwa Ibom after she was caught trying to escape a murder scene has finally explained her side of the story
According to Princess Odume, she acted in self-defense as the deceased had threatened her with a knife

The corps member who was nabbed after she tried to flee a murder scene has finally revealed the motive behind her action.
Princess Odume allegedly killed a man identified as Japhet Akwaowo in Akwa Ibom on Sunday January 10 and was apprehended as she tried to jump the fence with bloodstains on her body.
The corps member during her interrogation with the police explained that the victim, Japheth pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her if she wouldn’t take off her clothes as he intends to have sex with her.
According to Odiko Ogbeche-Macdon, the police spokesperson in Akwa Ibon State, Odume claimed she had gone out that morning to buy bean cake, popularly known as Akara and Japheth had beckoned on her, leading her to his apartment and thereafter threatened her to strip off her clothes.
The police further said she claimed to have overpowered him and used the knife on him in self-defense.
