Village Headmaster Television Drama Returns Thirty-three Years After It Was Rested

Nigeria’s longest ever running television drama, Village Headmaster, is set to make a comeback thirty-three years after.

Premiered in 1958 as a radio programme, Village Headmaster debuted on NTA in 1968 before it was rested in 1988.

The drama is set to make a scheduled return to television in April  and it’ll feature a few new A-list entrants.

  Nigeria’s foremost television drama, Village Headmaster would be making a scheduled return to television in April thirty-three years after it was rested. In partnership with Wale Adenuga Productions, the drama would be starring a handful of new entrants and It will be aired on the network service of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA. As shown in a trailer uploaded on YouTube, Dejumo Lewis would be returning to his role as Oloja (King) of Oja as well as Ibidun Allison as Amebo, Dele Osawe as Teacher Fadele, Lara Akinsola (Doyin) and Melville Obriango (Teacher Oghene).Dan Imoudu as Dagbolu and Kate Adepegba (Folake). Interestingly, Yemi Shodimu who had made a cameo appearances as a kid actor in the previous series takes on a new and bigger role as Dr Lekan. Late Oba Funso Adeolu would be replaced by veteran actor Jide Kosoko as Chief Eleyinmi, while, Kristy Imanlihen Rachael Oniga, Jide Alabi, Mide Martins, Tega Abaga, Mr Latin, Rykardo Agbor, Ronke Oshodi-Oke and Omo Ibadan would be taking up prominent roles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjEvSsOEhes   Meanwhile, we reported earlier that the Nigerian government has directed all telecommunication operators to deregister all SIM cards that are not synchronized with the National Identity Number (NIN) by December 30th 2020.
