Lagos state government has disclosed that plans have been put in place to prevent a third wave of coronavirus.

The state has placed facilities on alert to pick up signs that might indicate a third COVID wave
Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi warned that another wave was likely due to the importation of new strains.

He added that the progress made in curbing the virus will be lost if new strains make their way to the country.
The test will enforce isolation of incoming travelers and monitor those who test positive to new strains.

The commissioner is desperate to avoid a situation like the one being experienced in India and Brazil.

The government has also authorized a ban on non-Nigerian passengers from those countries.
