FG Makes COVID 19 Vaccine Compulsory for Civil Servants

• The federal government has announced plans to make COVID 19 vaccination mandatory for all federal civil servants

• The chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC), Boss Mustapha disclosed this shocking update during a meeting in Abuja on Thursday

• Mr Boss Mustapha expects western countries to limit entry to only people who have received the COVID 19 vaccine in the coming months

The federal government may be set to mandate the use of the COVID 19 vaccine for all federal civil servants.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha disclosed this on Thursday while speaking at a meeting with Health Commissioners on Thursday.

The meeting was organised to discuss measures that can be taken to strengthen the health system.

Mr Mustapha who also serves as the chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) said that the use of the COVID 19 vaccine will be made compulsory for all federal workers when there is enough vaccine.

The PSC chairman revealed that the government has planned policies help combat challenges caused by vaccine hesitancy in the country.

He further disclosed that the federal government will announce its decision on mandatory vaccination for all government employees.

The PSC boss stated that the policy could not be implemented immediately due to a shortage of vaccines.

Mr Mustapha stated that one reason that this policy is important for civil servants is that they’ll be travelling on behalf of Nigeria.

Finally, he urged everyone to play a role in the safety of Nigerians as the country battles a third wave of the pandemic.

Mustapha’s statement is coming only a few days after COVID 19 testing was mandated for all prospective NYSC Corp members.

NYSC board have stated that any Corper that refuses to be tested will not be allowed inside the orientation camp.
