A study published by Brazilian researchers has stated that the cure to COVID 19 may lie in the mouth of a snake.
A group of researchers in Sao Paulo claim that the venom in the jararacussu pit viper limits the ability of coronavirus to multiply in the monkey cells by 75%.
The author of the study, Rafael Guido revealed that the snake venom was able to hinder an important component in the virus.
Guido also disclosed that the peptide is famous for its antibacterial quality and can be replicated so people do not need to go in search of the snake.

The next step for these researchers is to study the efficiency of different doses of the molecule to determine if it can stop the virus from entering the monkey cell.
According to the statement State University of Sao Paulo, the peptide will later be tried on human cells but no timeframe was given for that.
The jararacussu is one of the largest snakes in South America and it can extend up to 2 meters. The snake can be found in countries such as Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay.
