-According to the minister, a few people have complained about some mild pain in their arms where the shot was taken
-The minister also disclosed that President Buhari has also taken the vaccine
The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire has today revealed some of the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The minister disclosed this during a live broadcast on Saturday while announcing that President Muhammadu Buhari has been vaccinated.
Naija FM previously disclosed that Buhari and Osinbajo we’re set to take the vaccine.
According to the Minister, some recipients of the vaccine have complained about mild side effects like pain in the area where the shot was received.
The minister also said that it takes companies an average of four years to create vaccines and this was done in a year, which is why people are apprehensive about the use of the vaccine.
The AstraZeneca vaccine was developed at the University of Oxford.
The vaccine is highly protective and a single shot reduces the chances of you getting ill by over 80%.
It is still unknown how long the protection of the vaccine lasts. A study found that people who have had Covid are protected from the virus for 6 months. The vaccine’s protection is expected to be longer than that.
