Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, and the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo will receive shots of the newly received COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday.
This was disclosed by Dr. Faisal Shuaib, Executive Director of National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) at a briefing on vaccination strategy in Abuja.
The exercise will be carried out with the aim of boosting Nigerians confidence in the vaccine and encourage them to receive it.
Dr. Shuaib urged people not to be influenced by vaccine hesitancy in some parts of the world. He said that the NPHCDA is ready to provide information and answer any questions you have about the vaccine.

3.92 million doses of the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID vaccine arrived at Abuja on Tuesday, March 2 through the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport.
Nigeria is still expected to receive more than 12 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine which is supplied through the COVAX initiative.
