The Ondo State Deputy Governor and the governorship candidate of Zenith Labour Party for the Ondo Election, Agboola Ajayi, has won his polling unit in today’s election in Kiribo in the Ese Odo Local Government area of the state.
Going by the result pasted at the unit by the polling officials of Independent National Electoral Commission, titled, ‘Publication of Result of Poll’, Agboola Ajayi won the Apoi Ward II, Unit 004, Idumado Quarters, Kiribo with a landslide having garnered 395 votes.
Also the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in the Ondo election Eyitayo Jegede, won in Igbogin/Isikan Ward 2, unit 9, where he voted.
He polled 220 votes against 60 recorded by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Rotimi Akeredolu.
An unidentified young man has been stabbed by thugs at a polling unit in Akure, the Ondo State capital where the ondo election is holding today.
Seventeen political parties in Nigeria, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) have fielded candidates in today’s governorship election in Ondo State.
However, there are only three main contenders and forecasters have predicted the poll will largely be a three-horse race.
The three parties are the ruling APC, PDP, and the Zenith Labour Party, with Akeredolu, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, and Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi as the respective candidates.
