Instagram Launches New Amazing Feature That Everyone Has Been Waiting For

  • Social media platform Instagram has launched new features that are aimed at limiting hate speech and racism among users
  • Once turned on, the feature will automatically hide messages and comments from users who do not follow or recently started following you
  • The feature is designed to stop mass abuse in the heat of the moment like the situation with England players missing penalties at the Euro final

Facebook-owned social media app Instagram just launched features that are designed to limit the impact of hate speech and racism on its platform.

The feature called “limits” will automatically hide comments and messages from people who don’t follow or recently follow you once it has been activated.

This update will prevent mass bullying on the platform from people who are caught up in the moment, the company said.

Instagram used the experience of the players who missed during the penalty shoot-out between England and Italy in the Euro 2020 finals as a point of reference.

During a tense penalty shoot-out, three black players, Rashford, Sancho, and Saka missed penalties for England.

Immediately after the loss, the three players were bullied and racially abused on social media by some fans.
