Canadian musician Justin Bieber has joined an exclusive list of celebrities to Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) after spending 500 ETH on an NFT.
The transaction confirmed in a sale stemming from the NFT marketplace Opensea cost $1.29 million, going by today’s market rate.
Bieber who goes by the name “JustinBieberNFTS” on Opensea, paid significantly more than the market value for the Ape #3001 NFT.
BAYC’s floor price was 104 ether or $270,908 at the time of sale, meaning that the musician paid almost 5 times the marker estimated price.
Following the purchase, the singer has around 340.43 ethereum worth $879K in the wallet sitting idle.
Further examination also revealed that this isn’t Bieber’s first NFT purchase. Stats show the musician has 619 NFTs from 49 collections.

Justin Bieber joins a list of celebrities such as Eminem, Serena Williams, Neymar, and Paris Hilton, who have invested in the Bored Ape collection.
