Legendary American rapper Snoop Dogg acquired his boyhood record label Death Row Record on February 9 this year and it appears that the musician has big plans for artists of the label.
During a recent chat in popular audio chat app “Clubhouse” on Monday, February 14, the rapper revealed that he plans to transform the record label into an NFT. During the session, Snoop disclosed that the label will be putting its artist “through the metaverse and through a whole other chain of music”.
A portion of the 50-year-old’s statement can be seen below:
“Just like how we broke the industry when I was the first independent to be a major, I want to be the first major in the metaverse so Death Row will be an NFT label”.
Since announcing the acquisition of Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg has released an “NFT album” titled “Bacc on Death Row” The record was released on the blockchain in a collaboration with gaming platform Gala. Purchase of the album on the blockchain gives access to one of its tracks as an NFT and the possibility of attending a barbecue at his home when all 17 NFTs are collected.
