The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Abdulrasheed Bawa a the new Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).
Bawa underwent a 2-hour screening by the upper chamber in which he was accompanied by his family.
The new chairman has been in the organization for 16 years while working his way up.
40-year-old Bawa is a fraud examiner and money-laundering expert. He has been instrumental in developing solutions to several cases.

During the screening, Bawa assured the senate that he is dedicated to putting the anti-corruption organization in a better position than he meets it.
He also stated that he will work with external organizations to help Nigeria recover stolen assets.
Abdulrasheed Bawa is a graduate of Usmanu Danfodio University in Sokoto, where he studied Economics.
Bawa joined the EFCC in 2004 as an assistant detective and has worked majorly as a detective in the organization.
