Manchester United are reportedly close to agreeing on a deal for van de Beek
After being quiet for the majority of the summer transfer window, Manchester United seem to be making moves to complete a transfer. Reports flying around show that they are close to completing a deal for Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek after agreeing on personal terms.
The two parties are believed to have agreed to a deal in the region of €39m with an additional €5m add on fees.
Manchester United are set to conclude the deal in the coming days. Van der Beek has joined the NManchester United close in on Van de Beeketherlands squad for their nation league games. The team is set to take on Poland and Italy during this international break.
The personal contract for Van de Beek will extend over five years and there will also be a significant pay rise to his current earnings at Ajax.
Van de Beek gained a reputation as a key member of the Ajax squad that reached the semi-final of the Champions League in 18/19. He also contributed 10 goals in league games as Ajax won the just concluded league.
The player is considered to have a good technical ability and he can operate in the central or attacking midfield position of most setups.
Once the deal is complete, it will be Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing of the window. The Red Devils were previously in for English player Jadon Sancho but they have been unable to complete a deal with Dortmund demanding in the excess of £100 million.
