The Vice Presidential quarters of the Presidential Villa have set aside N17 million for cutleries in the proposed 2018 budget. The presidential quarters budgeted N145 million for foodstuff and catering materials and another N135 million for refreshments and meals. 2018 budget: VP Osinbajo’s kitchen.

Aside this amount, N50 million would be spent on acquisition of foodstuff and catering materials, with an additional N18.3 million for refreshments. N2.3million would also be spent on cooking gas and fuel cost.

2018 budget: VP Osinbajo’s kitchenN18 million was budgeted for cooking gas and fuel cost, while N98 million was budgeted for foodstuff and catering materials with N25 million budgeted for refreshment and meals.

Recall that in the 2017 budget, the state house budgeted N123 million for foodstuff and catering materials, while N97 million was for refreshment and meals.

The president’s office had also budgeted N114 million for foodstuff and catering materials supply.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari presented the 2018 budget before a joint assembly of the national assembly on November 7 and there were indications that the 2018 Budget will see the President and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, spend nothing less than N1.3 billion on numerous trips, both foreign and local.

The Punch learnt that the figure is part of the 2018 Appropriation Bill presented to the joint section of the National Assembly by President Buhari about two weeks ago. According to the details obtained by the newspaper, the two Nigerian leaders will spend N968.4 m on their foreign trips during the year, while their local trips will take N334m.

On his part, the Vice President will spend N217m and N84m on his foreign and local trips respectively. These figures do not include N182m allocated for both local and foreign trips in the budget of the State House Headquarters.

In the last budget of 2017, President Buhari spent N739m on foreign trips, while Osinbajo used N218m for the same purpose.
