Lightning Strike Kills 2 Siblings in Osun State

• Two female siblings have been killed by a lightning strike in Ikirun, headquarters of Ifelodun council of Osun State

• The siblings were reportedly crossing a field in the area during the rain on Sunday around 4:30 pm in the Ogo-Oluwa area of the community when the incident occurred

• The entire community has gathered to mourn the passing of the kids after the tragic incident, while Ogun adherent carry out rites on the bodies

There was great sadness in Orisa Elejin community in Ikirun, Osun State after two siblings were struck by lightning.

The two girls were walking across a field at 4:30 pm on Sunday when the shocking incident occurred and they were killed immediately.

The Chairman of the Ifelodun Local Government Area, Ikirun, Hassan Okanlawon has confirmed the death of the siblings.

Mr Okanlawon disclosed that the dead bodies of the girls were found on the playground of an Arabic school.

The sisters were living with their grandmother and they were on their way to buy cooking ingredients before the lightning strike.

According to the traditions of the community, the bodies were left for a while for Sango adherents to perform some rites.

Members of the community are still in shock because there was only light rain before the life-ending incident.
