FG Declares 3-day Public Holiday For Christmas and New Year

  • The federal government has declared a 3-day public holiday to celebrate the coming Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day celebrations
  • The days of the holiday have been revealed to be Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th December 2021, and Monday, 3rd January 2022
  • Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola announced the holidays while felicitating with Christians

The Federal Government has declared Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th December 2021, and Monday, 3rd January 2022 as public holidays to mark the coming Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day celebrations.

Public holiday

The declaration was made by the minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on behalf of the government.

Mr. Aregbesola also took time to felicitate with Christians and Nigerians home and abroad ahead of the public holiday.

Ogbeni Aregbesola urged Christians to practice the doctrine of Christ, which faith, hope and love, and many others.

He also enjoined everyone to pray for the eradication of insecurity which the country is currently enduring.

Ahead of the public holiday, the Minister urged Nigerians to put safety first amid the rising number of COVID 19 cases in the country.

He advised Nigerians to obey guidelines and protocols that have been put in place to limit the spread of the virus.

Aregbesola also assured everyone that the government has put in measures to ensure their safety during this period.
