Nigerians Drags Davido For Denying He Joined #ENDSARS Protest

Nigeria singer Davido is currently being condemned by thousands of social media users after a video surface of him denying he had joined the protest to end SARS.

Davido had earlier received an invite to meet the Force Public Relation Officer, Frank Mba who had earlier in a televised session on Channels TV called protesters clout chasers for simply exercising their right to demonstrate against police brutality.

In the widely circulated video, the police PRO had accused Davido of joining the protest and then wondered why he still chose to come to him for dialogue. In response, Davido diplomatically said that he had only being in the scene of the protest to calm his fans and that he hadn’t in anyway joined the street demonstration.

Many Nigerians who had hailed Davido earlier when he said he would be a part of the demonstration in Abuja suddenly turned around and condemned him for what most tagged a betrayal and cowardice.

Meanwhile, we had earlier reported that president Muhammadu Buhari has again publicly addressed the ongoing issue on SARS as Nigerians worldwide are unrelenting to see the end of police brutality.

Also on Sunday 11 of October, 2020, the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu announced the dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) a tactical unit under the Nigerian Police Force. Mr Adamu also ordered the immediate redeployment of operatives under the unit. He gave these mandates amongst other orders targeted at reforming the police.

We ealier reported that American singer, songwriter, rapper, and actor Trey Song has voiced his concern over the police decision to redeploy SARS after the Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu announced the immediate disbandment of the police unit.
