The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has alleged that alleged fraudster Abass Ramon popularly known as Hushpuppi paid Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari to arrest Chibuzor Vincent.
The FBI revealed that the supercop was paid the sum of N8 million by Hushpuppi to arrest the accomplice Vincent, who threatened to ruin a fraudulent deal.
The information was passed in a document that was released by the District Court for the Central District of California.
According to the document, Kyari provided the account information of a Zenith bank in the name of another person.
Huspuppi then wired the money into his account after the target had been arrested in Nigeria.
Despite Kyari’s denial of the allegation, the Inspector General of the police recommended his suspension on Sunday and he was replaced by DCP Tunji Disu.
Tunji Disu will take over as the new head of the Intelligence Response Team while a response team has been set up to investigate Abba Kyari.

Prior to his appointment as head of the Intelligence Response Team, Tunji Disu served as the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos.
