In a chat with HipTV, the ‘Kukere’ crooner talked about his life, projects and his past record label.
He said, “I am making more money now than when I was…
“My story is incomplete without Ubi Franklin but I can’t do without Mavin.
“I am indisposed because some people are watching me.”
You know, some fans have rated Iyanya to be the sexiest male artist in the Nigerian music industry. He is usually compared with his colleague, Flavour N’abania who always bares his chest ‘for the ladies.’
But in his opinion, Iyanya said, “I don’t know about being the sexiest o but I know that I keep my stuff together and naturally I got so much energy…”
Few months ago, Iyanya confirmed his departure from Triple MG to float his own record label after parting ways amicably with long-term partner Ubi Franklin.
In what may be seen as the “October Surprise“, Don Jazzy announced the signing of Iyanya to Mavin Records via his twitter page and as is the norm with the Mavins.

Recall that after Iyanya announced his departure from his MMMG record label, series of reports went round social media, purporting the possible reason behind the separation move.
Under Made Men Music Group, Ubi managed the firm and the talent. Iyanya’s job was very limited to creating the content, and handing over to Ubi, and working on the performance.
It was Ubi who did the bookings, handled the business end of everything, digital sales, expansion and more.
Iyanya took care of powering in the money via entertainment, recording, releasing and performing music.
That combination worked wonders for a period in the Nigerian music space. Expansion came in 2014, with more talent signed and the business grown.
The duo have confirmed that there is no beef between them but some folks still think that Franklin’s estranged wife, Lilian Isoro, is the reason behind their split.
