Few months ago, Iyanya confirmed his departure from Triple MG to float his own record label after parting ways amicably with long-term partner Ubi Franklin.
In what may be seen as the “October Surprise“, Don Jazzy announced the signing of Iyanya to Mavin Records via his twitter page and as is the norm with the Mavins.
Shortly after, Iyanya released his first single under the imprint featuring Don Jazzy and Dr Sid titled “Up To Something“.
Most fans thought Iyanya had some ‘beef’ with his former partner, Ubi Franklin, although, they have both debunked.
Franklin made a U-turn, suggesting that the fans ask Iyanya instead, why he left him for Don Jazzy.

In a recent chat, Tiwa revealed how she felt when Iyanya joined Mavin.
She said, “Oh my goodness, Iyanya loves recording. He works on his crafts.
“He’s always singing, practicing. He works really hard but people may not know that about him but that’s the truth.
“Since he joined Mavin, I felt like he has been a part of me like forever from the beginning.”
The mother of one further stated that there are positive and negative sides to success.
She said, “It’s not so much about the destination but the journey. It does not matter whether it takes you two years or twenty years, you would get there eventually.

“Sometimes you look back and want to just run back to where you were.
“So while you are building your brand, just enjoy that process and when you become successful as well, enjoy all the benefits that come with it.
