
Ukraine Conflict: Amazon Blocks Russian Shipment and Access to Prime Video as War Continues

Amazon has announced that it is taking a strong stance against Russia, following the country’s invasion of Ukraine. The world’s largest retailer has disclosed that it will suspend shipments to Russia and Belarus.
In addition to that, the tech company has announced that access to its “Prime Video” streaming service will be halted in Russia, and orders for its MMO New World from Russia will not be processed.
The company announced its stern sanction against the country led by President Vladimir Putin in a blog post that was released on Wednesday. The blog post says that Amazon doesn’t have any offices in Russia and the company has held a policy of not doing business with the government of Russia.
In the same blog post, the tech giant disclosed that AWS subscribers fin Russia and Belarus will no longer be accepted.

The company’s stern sanction comes as no surprise as other tech companies such as Apple, Google, and Microsoft took similar action against Russia.
The suspension of shipments may not come as a big problem to residents of the country as Russia’s eCommerce industry is dominated by local retailers, Ozon and Wildberries.
