The Premier League table-toppers were top of the accountancy firm’s Money League for the first time in the 2020-21 season, after raking in £571.1million (€644.9million).

This is a drastic improvement on the club’s earnings after the Premier League champions were ranked 6th on this same list in the 2019-20 season.

The club’s revenue has gone from £12.7million to £571.1million in the 25 years since the Money League was first introduced.

Last season’s Champions League finalists are joined in the top 10 by 5 other English clubs with Manchester United ranked 5th. Liverpool and Chelsea enjoyed 7th and 8th respectively, while Tottenham came in 10th place.

Following Manchester City at the top of the list, Real Madrid came in second with £537.7million in revenue. Barcelona came in 3rd and Bayern Munich 4th.

The other teams in the top 10 are Paris Saint Germain at 6th and Juventus at 9th.

Despite the impressive turnovers, Deloitte estimated that Money League clubs have missed out on about €1.7billion of revenue over 2 seasons due to the pandemic.
