Manchester City made an official statement on Tuesday afternoon, announcing a deal to sign popular Danish striker, Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. The deal is expected to go through as soon as the transfer window opens on July 1, 2022.
Manchester City is ready to pay the 21-year-old Norwegian striker’s release clause of €75 Million, and has beaten lots of other competitors for the Dortmund man.
Haaland who has been in the German league since 2020 has been tipped by many to be one of Europe’s top football players of the next decade.
For a while now, there has been numerous speculation about the future of the striker. Manchester City has, however, gotten the transfer over the line before the transfer window opens and competition for his signature intensifies.
Manchester City, which is currently at the top of the Premier League confirmed the agreement with Erling Haaland, but disclosed that it is yet to finalize personal terms with him.
According to the club’s official Twitter account, final terms will be resolved ahead of the conclusion of the deal on July 1.

Pep Guardiola has reportedly been interested in signing a pure No.9 and there’s undoubtedly no better man for that position than 21-year-old Erling Haaland.
Haaland has been in great form this season, scoring 36 goals in all competitions for Dortmund in only 38 games.
