The viral challenge has resulted in many injuries as people stack the crates up and try to impress others by climbing to the top
TikTok has banned the viral dangerous Milk Crate Challenge from its platform over the safety concerns of users.
The challenge which involves people staking crates and climbing the shaky structure has been all over the internet lately.
A spokesperson for the social media platform started to TechCrunch that TikTok prohibits content that promotes dangerous acts and such videos will be removed.
The statement reads
“TikTok prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content. We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behaviour whether online or off.”
Most videos of the viral Milk Crate Challenge has resulted in people falling off the crates with some getting injured.
Despite the ban, a couple of videos with variations in spellings have managed to find their way into the platform.
The crate challenge is not the first that would be banned by TikTok. In 2020, another dangerous challenge called Skullbreaker anded a Teen in hospital and was also banned on the platform
