Actor Alec Baldwin accidentally shot two people on the set of a movie, causing the death of a man and an injury to a woman.
Halyna Hutchins, a director of photography was fatally shot on a New Mexico film set for the 19th Century western Rust.
The 42-year-old was quickly flown to the hospital on an available helicopter but she died of her injuries.
48-year-old director Joel Souza who was also shot was taken away from the scene of the accident by ambulance.
Police have disclosed that investigations are still being carried out and no charges have been filed.
A spokesperson for Alec Baldwin has disclosed that the accident occurred when a prop gun wa fired.
According to a search warrant filed in a Santa Fe court, the actor was handed a loaded weapon by an assistant director and told that he was carrying “cold gun”.

Baldwin, who is the star and co-producer of “Rust,” claimed to be in a state of shock following the incident.
The movie star however voluntarily spoke to detectives to answer any questions that they may have about the incident.
Baldwin who is the eldest of four sons has been an actor since the 1980s, featuring in numerous movies and tv shows.
