Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress like Joe Igbokwe have been backing out of the ENDSARS protest. This is coming after some protesters were calling for an end to Nigeria and Buhari’s administration.
The grounds for the 10-million-man match is to reinstate support for President Buhari who has been at the center of fierce criticisms from protesters.
Joe Igbokwe claims that he was backing the ENDSARS protesters until he started seeing placards calling for Buhari’s resignation.
Also, there are rumors that the federal government will deploy the military to disperse protesters who have blocked major roads in Abuja. This is because the government feels that the protest is aimed at President Buhari.
The 10-million-man match for Buhari will take place on the 21st of October 2020 at Unity Fountain, Abuja.
Most Nigerians felt betrayed by Joe Igbokwe’s statement. He insinuated that youths engaging in protests are drug addicts and criminals that are not enough to match Buhari’s supporters.
He even shared an odd photo of singer Davido taking what seems like drugs to prove his claim.
