The vaccine delivery was confirmed to Channels TV on Monday by the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association in the state, Dr. Mannir Bature.
Bature seized the opportunity to debunk rumors that is a shortage of the second dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in some states.
He stated that as long as the first dose of vaccine is delivered, there is a guaranty for the second dose I will be delivered.
The NMA chairman also urged those who received the first dose in the second phase of vaccination to make themselves available for the second shot.
“We still have doses of Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine in the state. What happened is that anytime we are deploying vaccine, we make sure both first and second dose are available before we even commence it,”
