The federal government announced on Monday that Nigeria is set to receive 3.5 million doses of Pfizer COVID 19 vaccine from the United States.
The vaccines will be an addition to Nigeria’s vaccination campaign in a bid to ensure that all Nigerians are inoculated against the virus.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha disclosed this while speaking to journalists in Abuja.
According to Mr. Mustapha, Nigeria has witnessed significant progress in its vaccination bid recently.
He also divulged that 4 million doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine and 1 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be received monthly.
“Over 3.5 million doses of Pfizer COVID 19 vaccine are being expected from the US Government this month while about four million doses of AstraZeneca are being expected early next month,”.
“Nigeria will be receiving over one million doses of Johnson and Johnson (J&J) shipments monthly. The PSC is committed to accessing enough vaccines for the 70% eligible persons in the country in record time.”

Meanwhile, the National Primary Health Care Division Agency (NPHCDA) has reported that 4,758,305 Nigerians have received the first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine while 1,906,770 have been inoculated with 2 doses.
