The Moderna COVID vaccines will be delivered to all 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory
Gricd, a cold chain technology company has collaborated with Nigeria’s National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) to deliver COVID 19 vaccines to the country.
The company known for using the Internet of Things to enable last-mile delivery of temperature-sensitive products has developed a plan to deliver 4.2 million doses of the Moderna COVID vaccines to 36 states of the country and FCT.
The batch of vaccines to be delivered were donated by USAID to the Nigerian government through the COVAX initiative.
To ensure that the potency of the vaccine is intact, it is required that an average storage condition of -15 degrees and -25 degrees Celsius is met.
Using Gricd’s MOTE, the NPHCDA was able to track the storage conditions of the vaccines from the Strategic Cold Store in Abuja to their destination without a drop in potency.

The lack of reliable cold storage and inefficient cold chain management has resulted in high wastage and ineffectiveness of vaccines.
Gricd offers IoT-enabled solutions that ensure the delivery of accurate temperature monitoring and data logging to ensure the effective distribution of vaccines.
