Argentine football player Lionel Messi has joined a list of players that have tested positive to COVID 19.
Paris Saint-Germain announced the player’s status on Sunday, confirming that he had contracted the virus alongside 3 other players.
This rules the players out of PSG’s French Cup match against Vannes on Monday.
The club stars will also likely be sidelined for PSG’s first Ligue 1 match in 2022 against Lyon next Sunday.

The other players to test positive for the virus are left-back Juan Bernat, goalkeeper Sergio Rico and midfielder Nathan Bitumazala.
Confirming the status of the players, the club statement said:
“They are currently respecting isolation and are subject to the appropriate health protocols,”
Europe has been hugely hit by a wave of COVID recently, with over 200,000 cases recorded in a day this week.
