The millennial president has predicted that the flagship cryptocurrency will more double in value, reaching $100,000
-
Bukele has also tipped other nations to adopt the flagship cryptocurrency as legal tender
It was a big year of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in 2021. From the flagship cryptocurrency reaching $69,000 to El Salvador adopting it as legal tender.
Now El Salvador’s president Nayib Bukele has predicted that the good run of the flagship cryptocurrency will extend into 2022.
In a post on Twitter, Bukele proclaimed that Bitcoin will reach $100,000 in 2022, more than double its current value of $47,000.
Since peaking at $69,000, the flagship cryptocurrency has crashed, falling as low as $42,500 in December.
The combined market cap of cryptocurrencies has lost $800 billion since November as worries rise over inflation and the Federal Reserve’s outlook this year.

Bukele also predicted that two other countries will follow El Salvador’s steps and adopt Bitcoin as legal tender while it becomes a major electoral issue in U.S. elections this year.
Although some countries such as Paraguay and Venezuela have flirted with the idea of Bitcoin as a legal tender, it’s merely speculations and there is a long way to go before that can be reality.
