Gov Sanwo Olu Announces Success in the Battle Against COVID-19

  • The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu has announced that the state has been successful in battling the third wave of COVID-19
  • The governor disclosed this while giving an independence day speech at Agege Stadium on Oct 1st
  • He also revealed that proper measures are being taken to banish the virus from the state completely

Governor Babjide Sanwo Olu has revealed that Lagos State has successfully overpowered the third wave of COVID-19.

The governor made this stunning announcement while speaking at the Agege Stadium during a rally for Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary.

In July, the Lagos state government warned its residents about an impending third wave of the pandemic after a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases.

This was further reiterated on August 2 by the federal government who officially declared the third wave.

Sanwo Olu later provided in August-end, stating that there had been a surge in severe cases as the number of oxygen cylinders used daily rose from 75 to 400.

The latest update in his Independence Day speech to Lagosians however shows that the third wave had been overcome.

Gov Sanwo Olu further stated that officials are taking proper measures to completely keep the virus from Lagos state.
