Lagos Health Commissioner Prof. Akin Abayomi has warned Lagosians to be wary about the third wave of COVID-19.

Prof. Abayomi made this revelation during a ministerial briefing to Mark Governor Sanwo-Olu’s second year in office.
The Commissioner also revealed that 260,000 people have received the COVID vaccine, representing one percent of the population.
He revealed that the low vaccination percentage could put the state at risk of a third wave.
According to the commissioner, Lagos was working towards 60 percent herd immunity by vaccinating 14 million people.
The state is also set to resume the second phase of the vaccination for those who received the first vaccine.

Other measures have been taken to curb the spread of the virus in Nigeria, including banning flights from India, Turkey, and Brazil.
