FG Extends NIN Registration Deadline by 8 Weeks
The Federal Government has once again extended the NIN registration deadline by 8 weeks
This was announced on Tuesday by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy
54 Million people have obtained their NIN and 190 million mobile numbers have been linked
For the Umpteenth time, the Federal Government has extensive extended the deadline for NIN registration.
This new extension is by eight weeks and NIN-SIM linkage will be possible till June 30, 2021, according to the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
A statement released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) states that the extension will give room to all citizens to register.
The statement also states that 54 million people have registered for NIN and 190 Million mobile numbers have been linked.
Telecom companies like MTN and Globacom have also opened centers around to make registration and sim linkage easier.
Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami urged Nigerians to take advantage of the extension by FG.
He also reiterated the government’s commitment to ease the pains of citizens regarding issues related to NIN.
