As of May 30, 2021, more than 10,000 Nigerians have experienced adverse effects after receiving the COVID vaccine.
The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Faisal Shuaib revealed that the side effects vary from mild to severe in individuals.

While speaking at a press briefing, he stated that the minor side effects of the vaccine include pain and swelling on the area where the jab was received.
The more severe adverse effects were headaches, stomach pain, dizziness, fever, and allergic reactions.
A total of 10,027 cases of mild side effects have been experienced among recipients of the vaccine.
While people have experienced moderate to severe Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) are numbered at 86.
All patients who experienced any side effects were properly looked after and they have recovered, according to Dr Faisal Shuaib.
The States with the most cases of side effects are Cross River, Kaduna, and Lagos with 1,040, 1,071 and 796 respectively.

According to the NPHCDA, 1,956,598 Nigerians have received the first dose of the vaccine.
Out of this population, 66% are frontline workers, 22% work in the health sector, while 12% are elders.
