Medical Experts Warn About COVID Third Wave in Nigeria

• Medical experts in the country have warned Nigerians about the dangers of COVID third wave in Nigeria

• The experts advised the country to ban flight from high risk countries like India and Turkey

• The director of NCDC however believes that the risk of a third wave can be reduced by travel tests and self-isolation

Despite the country recording fewer covid cases daily, Medical experts have warned Nigeria to be careful about a third wave of the virus.

Experts believe that the country is still at risk of the pandemic and measures must be taken to keep it at bay.

The President of the Academy of Medicine Specialties of Nigeria, Prof Oladapo Ashiru recently disclosed that most recent transmissions in the country are from inbound passengers from India.

Prof. Ashriru has suggested that Nigeria limits flights and passengers from the Asian country for two weeks.

Report shows that the number of new cases in the country has remained the same between last week and now.

424 new cases were recorded between April 21 and 27 and 423 cases were recorded in the week presiding that.

Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, The Director-General of the NCDC believes that risks of a COVID third wave can be reduced by conducting travel tests and self-isolation.
