The country has reported 17.6 million cases of the virus since last year but experts fear that it is still underreported.

Health workers and scientists have predicted that the numbers could be 30 times more, according to CNN.

During the first wave, the government put down the low number of cases to its “proper handling” of the virus.

According to predictions, the country’s death toll could keep increasing till the middle of May.

Experts expect the death toll to peak at 13,000, 13 times the current daily count.

Countries have been doing their best to help the India COVID case by sending supplies.

US state, California contributed to the cause by sending Oxygen equipment, including cylinders, concentrators, and regulators.
