COVID 19 Vaccine: 4 Million Nigerians Receive First Dose
More than 4 million Nigerians gave received the first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine while 1.6 million have received the second dose of the vaccine
This data is true for the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory as of September 13th, 2021, according to the Nigeria Primary Healthcare Development Agency
The NPHCDA is currently vaccinating Nigerians with AstraZeneca and Moderna COVID vaccines
The Nigeria Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) has disclosed that 4,082,720 eligible Nigerians have received the first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine.
In addition, 1,697,800 million people have received the second shot of the COVID vaccine.
The NPHCDA revealed this in a statement that was released on Monday evening, showing the vaccination data for the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory.
“4,082,720 of total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination reached with first dose while 1,697,800 of total eligible persons targeted for COVID-19 vaccination reached with second dose (fully vaccinated)”.
Nigerians are currently being vaccinated with Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines that we’re delivered into the country in August.
Also, the NPHCDA has revealed its plan to vaccinate 109 million Nigerians against the highly transmissible virus by 2023.
The agency had guaranteed that Nigerians who receive the COVID 19 vaccine and contract the virus will only experience milder symptoms.
Meanwhile, 387 cases of COVID 19 were recorded in the latest update of the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, as well as 21 deaths.
This brings the total COVID 19 cases in Nigeria to 199,538, of which 188,427 have been discharged.
