The federal government has stepped up its efforts in the battle against Coronavirus.

According to Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed, FG has just announced the approval of N83.56 billion for COVID vaccine.
The allocated budget will be used to purchase 30 million doses of the J&J vaccine.

Mr Ahmed disclosed this to State House correspondents during a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
The budget also includes the sum of N1.69 billion for the AIDS programme.

It was reported earlier that the country was planning to purchase 29.59 million doses of the J&J vaccine through the Afrixem Bank AVAT initiative.

At the moment, 2 million Nigerians have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine received through the COVAX initiative.
