The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has given an update on COVID 19 cases and deaths in its latest report.
2 deaths were reported across 15 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory according to the website of the agency, bringing the death toll to 2,590.
Data on the website also shows that 547 new recorded cases were more than 466 recorded the previous day.
In addition, there are 10,038 active COVID 19 cases, which indicates recovery among many patients.
The latest NCDC data shows that Lagos leads with 110, while Oyo and Rivers follow with 72 and 56 respectively.
Other states cases are Anambra (50), Osun (49), Delta (48), FCT (42, Ekiti (29), Akwa Ibom (26), Abia (19) Kano (16), Edo (10), Benue (7), Ogun (6), Kaduna (5), Bayelsa (2).
It is worth noting that the 31 cases for Delta and 50 cases for Anambra were backlog cases from other days.
Meanwhile, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency has reported progress in the second phase of the vaccination.
A report revealed that a total of 3,600,858 had received the first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine as of September 6, 2021.
Of the total reported vaccinations, 2,551,738 people received the AstraZeneca vaccine while 1,049,120 got the Moderna shot.
