
COVID 19: 3,600,858 Nigerians Get Vaccine Shots

More than 3,600,000 have received their first shot of the COVID 19 vaccine, the federal government has disclosed.
The report was given by Dr. Faisal Shuaib, the Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA).
Dr. Shuaib disclosed that vaccination has now properly kicked off across the 36 States.
The NPHCDA boss also revealed that a total of 3,600,858 had received the first dose of the COVID 19 vaccine as of September 6, 2021.
Of the total reported vaccinations, 2,551,738 people received the AstraZeneca vaccine while 1,049,120 got the Moderna shot.
According to Shuaib, the agency decided to reopen AstraZeneca for first dose vaccination after additional 394,480 doses of vaccine were received through COVAX.

He also announced that 1,123,200 doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine were delivered into the country on Saturday.
