Nigeria recorded four new death cases from COVID 19 and related complications on Tuesday

The new death cases are coming 8 days after the last recorded death in the country

The country also recorded 37 new cases of the fatal coronavirus disease in the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory
Just when it seemed like the storm was being weathered, Nigeria has recorded 5 deaths from COVID 19.

No news deaths had been recorded in the past 8 days till the statistics of Tuesday was released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
According to the NCDC, 37 new cases were also recorded nationwide, bring the total number of recorded cases in the country to 166,098 and fatalities, 2,071.

As expected, Lagos recorded the highest number of cases, 29, with the closest being Akwa Ibom with 3 cases.
The Federal Capital Territory(Abuja, recorded 2 new cases, one more than Kaduna and Kano.

The country is stepping up efforts to curb the spread of the virus. In the last report, 1,929,237 people had been vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.
A total of 440,000 health workers have been vaccinated with the first dose, according to data from NPHCDA.

The government also ordered the arrest of 90 travellers who failed to quarantine after coming into the country.
