Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has overtaken Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to become the richest person in the world according to Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index
The 50-year-old engineer gained $3.52 billion at the end of Thursday’s trading session as Tesla share price increased by 2.2%.
The world’s most valuable car company is now worth $715 billion, an increase of 123% in the past year.
The increase in Tesla share prices now means that Elon Musk is worth $196 billion, more than any other person on earth.

Musk’s current wealth valuation means that he is now worth $4 billion more than the Amazon and Blue Origin founder.
This is the first time that Musk will overtake Bezos since earlier this year when they both switched places several times at the top of the rich list.
With Tesla’s vehicle deliveries expected to increase by 50% each year, many have fancied Elon Musk’s net worth to keep increase astronomically in the coming years.
